Pebble Beach

Let's Reminisce

Here is the blog post that I've been promising to write for the past week, all about our Pebble Beach trip. This was our first time visiting Pebble Beach and the surrounding areas in California. After just 3 nights and 4 days, we left California still wanting more. It was just so beautiful! Let's go back to the beginning though. It started with a 5hr and 20 min flight out of JFK. We drove an hour and half down from the San Jose airport to Carmel, CA and had lunch at the Hyatt Residence Club. This was the first of many beautiful meals with a view of the mountains and ocean. We stayed at the Lodge at Pebble Beach with the sprawling golf course all around us. The first whole was located right outside of our patio. The guys played the Pebble Beach golf course and Spyglass golf course during our trip. I browsed the shops, went to the gym and of course, enjoyed the spa on the Pebble Beach grounds. We drove along the beautiful shoreline on Pacific Coast Highway 1 to Big Sur and walked among the giant Red Wood trees. We also drove along the famous 17 Mile route and got out at every scenic marker to take pictures. You can expect to do a lot of driving here but the scenery and destinations are so worth it. You can also expect to do a lot of eating as there are many great restaurants with spectacular views to enjoy. Oh, and yes, a lot of golf, if you're into that. Otherwise, you can stay active by heading to the gym or going to the equestrian center. The guys have already mentioned a return trip next year and I'll be ready. Here are some of the details:

What to wear

You really have to pack a combination of short sleeve and long sleeve tops and a packable jacket or cardigan. Think Spring or Fall all year round for this area of California. Wearing layers you can take off is a good idea incase you find yourself exploring a warmer area or vice versa. The weather is typically cool and a little unpredictable. The temperature can range from 50-70 degrees.

Athleta's new 2018 fall line is amazing. I recently bought a few pieces from Athleta that I wish I had with me in Pebble Beach. There athleisure is so versatile and can be worn for travel, the gym or out to eat.

Movies

My favorite thing about longer cross country flights is being able to watch the new release movies. Here are the movies I got to watch: The Book Club, Overboard, Lady Bird, Love Simon, The DisasterArtist and 3/4 of Chappaquidick.

Shopping

The women's shops at Pebble Beach sell brands such as Ugg, Beyond Yoga, Vimmia, Blanc Noir and Columbia. They have some great apparel in case you need to purchase something you forgot at home. If you're not prepared for the chilly weather then you'll definately need to purchase a couple layers.

Spa

I had the pleasure of visiting the incredible Spa at Pebble Beach for a 'Cloud Nineteen' Floatation Wrap. The dry floatation bed allows your body to float freely in heated bliss. The lavender and lemon lotion infuses the skin with moisture and stimulates the lymphatic system. I also enjoyed the jacuzzi and himalayan salt room (halo therapy) before I hit their heavenly spa shower. After I put myself back together with all the amenities they offer for your use, I grabbed a green juice at their adorable juice bar snuggled in a little Spanish courtyard.
